There should be a lot of discussion as to whether Favre should be retiring this season. With his age becoming a factor in his health and activeness I’m not sure he should play another season. He has been a great QB for years, one of the best at that but there is a time to quit for everyone and for Brett it may be sooner then later. I was really glad to see him pass Marino’s TD record which is why I think he partly stayed in the game this long, I don’t see him playing another season in the NFL. I think he wants to retire, and I think Green Bay wouldn’t mind moving on with their young QB. They have Aaron Rodgers who could be developing but with them holding onto Brett too long Aaron is losing his chance. Green Bay had an awesome season this year and although it just ended they had a great run at the Superbowl. It would have been something special for Favre to win a ring right before retirement, but I don’t think the ring is going to decide if he plays or not. Green Bay has a developing defence who could use a fresh rejuvenation to the offence. I would expect the announcement for his retirement to come a week or two after the Superbowl, it should be interesting to see if he does or not. If Favre doesn’t retire this year then I can see Green Bay eating the cheese next year and going below .500. That’s just my opinion though, but many other people share this same thought.
